The journey of transforming from an inn to a designer hotel has been a long one. It all began in 1860. At that time, the “Post” was the top address in town for social and cultural events.

During the war and occupation period, Theresia and Johann Egger ran “Gasthof Pension zur Post” in Zell am Ziller. They leased this cozy inn from the local company Zeller Bräu. There are countless legends from local and foreign guests about this “Alte Post”. They tell of extravagant balls, a creaky veranda, occupying troops, as well as passionate love and great sorrow.

The house was in the municipality of Zellbergeben and had to make way for the new Zillerbrücke bridge in 1969. Only 1 year later, Gasthof Neue Post was built in the town center of Zell. In 1979, Hans Egger took over the business. Together with his wife Luise, he gradually built and expanded Hotel Neue Post from the old inn.

In 2009, Christina Binder-Egger became the third generation to be entrusted with her parents’ life’s work. The motto is to draw from the traditional while creating something new. With much love and sensitivity, her family has succeeded in creating a designer hotel whose roots and humble beginnings can still be felt.

Because unity is strength, husband Reinhard and children Marie-Theres and Leni stand by Christina’s side with passion and enthusiasm.
