Jarred & shared

Our Jam Stories

There are scents that instantly bring a smile to your face. The aroma of freshly cooked jam is definitely one of them. Today, we do it just like back then - only a little more professional.

As children, we stood wide-eyed by the stove while Grandma preserved the fruits of summer. Later, when the jars were lined up in the pantry, it was clear: they held not just fruit, but an entire seasons of memories.

In the light-flooded Eden Patisserie at MalisGarten, we, too capture the sunshine. Here, we chop, stir, and laugh together. And in the end, once again, jars of happiness stand before us - filled with fruits from our gardens, the surrounding forests, and dear friends.

Fruits full of Character

Pure Variety of Flaors

Depending on the season, our jams and jellies change their flavors, and the number of jars depends entirely on the year's harvest.

One thing is certain: all of our fruit comes untreated from our gardens and the surounding forests - better than organic, simply natural.

Some of our seasonsal favorites:

  • Grape jam - from the vines at HochLeger-Martinerhof. Sun-kissed, bottled in a jar.
  • Lingonberries & blueberries - gathered in the surrounding forests. Small but mighty, with bold flavor.
  • Plums - straight from the trees of our neighors in Zell am Ziller. Juicy & irresistible.
  • Strawberries - from Erdbeerland at the entrance to the Zillertal. (It has happened that the baskets were already empty before we even made it home...)
  • Cherries - from the venerable cherry tree by the Ebster staff house.
  • Blackberries & Raspberries - straight from the canes in MalisGarten.
  • Apricots from the Wachau - the apricot farmers bless us with their orange gold.

And because plain fruit sometimes feels a little too well-behaved, we let the herbs from our garden join the fun. Apricot & lavender? Sounds like a summer wedding - tastes like a jam lover's dream.

Happyness by the JarfulWhy jam is so much more

... than just sweet

It's really quite simple: fruit, a little sugar, a lot of love - and suddenly you've got a guaranteed mood-booster in a jar. Natural jam is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. And its gentle sweetness teases out our serotonin - that famous happinss hormone.

But the true secret isn't only in the ingredients. Almost everyone loves jam because each spoonful holds a taste of childhood. An afternoon in Grandma's kitchen, the bubbling pot, the cheerful pop of the lids. Every jar holds not just fruit, but a whole supply of treasured memories. And let's be honest: a spoonful of jam is the quickest way to a morning smile.

Soul Food in a JarSubtle Powers at Work

Jam works not only on the tongue, but also on a more delicate level - touching both mind and soul.

It reminds us of sun-drenched days, of being grounded in nature, and of the luxury of simplicity. Its delightful aroma lifts the mood, its vibrant colors warm the heart, and its taste restores our trust in life itself.

The prerequisite, of course, is real jam - handmade, free of additives, and cooked from the finest, ripest fruits. That's what makes each jar not just nourishment, but a comforter, a soul-soother, and a true amplifier of happiness.

Messages in a JarSeductive, soothing, connecting

Say it with jam.

"I was thinking of you." "I'm sorry." "I like you." - a jar of homemade jam doesn't need long speeches to say it all. Messages, captured in delicious fruit preserves and prettily packaged, bring a smile to anyone who receives them.

And the best part: the joy lasts. Unlike flowers, it doesn't wilt. Unlike chocolates, it's not gone in one sitting. Jam lingers, accompanying the recipient for days - spoon by spoon, breakfast by breakfast.

That way, you're giving not just flavor, but a whole series of little moments of happiness.

Whether as a thoughtful gesture, a sweet peace offering, or a charming declaration of love - with jam, you always strike right at the heart.

Our guests enjoy our homemade jams every morning at breakfast in all ZillerSeasons retreats. And for those who want to take a taste of that colorful happiness home, they are available at the Eden Patisserie - individually of in lovingly arranged gift baskets full of homemade delights.
